초록

The purpose of this study was to examine major issues and structural limitations in domestic student-athlete policy research in Korea and to suggest future policy directions. Following the PRISMA protocol, studies published since 2010 were systematically reviewed, and eleven selected studies were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results showed that student-athlete policy research has mainly focused on academic rights, human rights and training environments, administrative support systems, and career development and transition. In particular, dual-career policies centered on the Minimum Academic Achievement Policy and the Basic Academic Support Program have played a central role, but previous studies have consistently pointed out that these policies have operated in a performance-based manner and have not sufficiently ensured authentic learning experiences or career linkage. This study suggests that student-athlete policy should move toward a structural transformation integrating learning, training, administration, and career development. It emphasizes the need for a curriculum-based restructuring of academic support policies, the establishment of collaborative governance and school-based coordinators, and the expansion of policy focus to athlete identification and early development. This study concludes that a life-course-oriented dual-career support system is essential for the sustainable development of student-athletes.
