The need for varied information and education is expanding due to increasing leisure time afforded by the extension of the average life span, increase in seniors’ interest in improving their quality of life in old age, and desire for self-realization. Therefore, this study aims to contribute to the establishment of a systematized education system for seniors in art museum education by examining the necessity of introducing senior education to art museum education and its development direction. For this purpose, focus group interview was conducted with the participation of culture and arts education experts, and the interview data were analyzed. The study identified areas of improvement in the existing art museum education for seniors and analyzed in depth the plans for designing an education program reflecting the emerging demands of the field. Based on the results, it is expected that the quality of life in old age will be improved through art museum education for the senior generation and that their social sensitivity and imagination will expand.
