This article analyses changes of leisure behaviors in the aging society in Korea and views Korean people's behavioral patterns for leisure in the future. Two propositions were adopted to anticipate leisure styles of Koreans; Korea follows Japan in terms of time spending and consumption patterns for leisure. The method to compare Korea with Japan is based on statistics of time spending and consumption of disposable income collected by the national statistics division of both countries. The aging rates of Korea between 2005 and 2025 and those of Japan between 1983 and 2005 are similar. Accordingly this study analyses leisure patterns of Japanese people for the proposed period and then anticipates those of Koreans for the future through the Japanese cases. The research results show that Korean people will be involved more with leisure activities such as 'watching cable television', 'using sport facilities', 'participating in cultural events' and 'overnight travels' as its society becomes more aged. The most important implication will be that Korea can prepare for the aged society better by developing more indoor leisure facilities, especially, for cultural activities and sports.
