This study investigates ways in which preliminary nutrition teachers can closely observe class design experiences and in which their future class design activities can be supported. We surveyed eight preliminary nutrition teachers who participated in the educational engineering class concern ing their experience in class design. As a result of this study, preliminary nutrition teachers exhibited a general understanding of class design, confirming that they were experiencing various difficulties in class design and execution. In particular, prospective nutrition teachers had difficulty in setting class goals, understanding their students, planning class activities, and developing evaluation tools; further, they sometimes lacked confidence due to their lack of actual class experience. It is essential to train preliminary nutrition teachers in systematic class design, guiding them to set class goals, explore various class methods, develop evaluation tools, and provide actual class experience. In addition, through cooperation with mentor teachers and interaction with fellow teaching students, practical feedback can be obtained to improve class design skills to promote continuous learning and growth. This study contributes to improving the quality of pre nutrition teacher education and enhancing the effectiveness of healthy dietary education for students.
