초록

This paper investigates the various aspects of convergence research thatare currently being performed, with which viewpoint the convergenceresearch has been carried on in film area and how would it be going onafterward. This paper creates the concept of ‘Film Engineering’; suggestingthe further direction of convergence research in film area. This paperseeks to the direction of further convergence research by analyzing thediscussion and programs brought in under the title of Story Engineeringuntil current, pointing out their limitations, and suggesting how theprograms should be developed to contribute to the film industry which ischaracterized by Box-office success or failure. This paper presents the development of a new program of the filmelements divided into text and context, integrating all of the elements todatabase every cases that each independent variables have correlationswith dependent variables. When this program develops later, this is expectedto reduce the risk of filmmaking with the scientific data by employing theFilm Engineering. Existing similar programs in Story Engineering are focused on the storyof the film; programs coping with external elements of the story which isimportant since the film is synthetic art, has not been developed yet. Itsignifies this ‘convergence’ research: not only content as an academicresearch but substantially affect the film industry.
