초록
This study derived latent profiles of preschoolers (N = 772, ages 3-5) based on smart device usage purposes and examined differential patterns in psychosocial characteristics. Grounded in Bronfenbrenner's bioecological framework, individual temperament and peer interaction were conceptualized as proximal factors that shape device-use contexts. Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) identified four profiles: low-use (29.3%), high education-low leisure (19.7%), low education-high leisure (35.8%), and high-use (15.3%). BCH analysis confirmed significant differences in peer interaction across profiles. Multinomial logistic regression revealed that temperament emotionality and peer play disconnection significantly predicted profile membership. Significant interaction effects of usage type and dependency level were found on psychosocial problem behaviors. Findings indicate that identical levels of device dependency produce different developmental outcomes depending on the purpose of use, suggesting that early-childhood media guidance should shift from a time-based or risk-only approach toward a purpose- and context-sensitive one.
