In this study, we proposed a wearable textile-based glucose fuel cell using moisture management fabrics (MMF). MMF is composed of polyester with modified cross-sectional shapes for quick water absorbing and wicking, so naturally continuous flow with high flow rate can be induced, which results in improved and long-term power generation. The proposed fuel cell is fully composed of textile materials including MMF, carbon cloth treated with Prussian blue (PB) and glucose oxidase (GOD), and conductive thread. Owing to low-cost and scalable fabrication process, it can be easily integrated into clothes to utilize human body fluid to generate energy for wearable devices. © 2019 IEEE.
