This study aims to examine the effect of role stress on job engagement among employees in the education service industry, as well as to verify the moderating effect of social support in the relationship between role stress and job engagement. The study sample consists of employees across the nation who are involved in planning and operating education services, and hypotheses were tested based on the analysis of 210 survey responses. The final data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 program, which included frequency analysis, validity and reliability testing, Pearson's correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and moderation regression analysis. The findings of the study are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the sub-factors of role stress, namely role conflict and role ambiguity, negatively affect job engagement among employees in the education service industry. Second, the moderating effect of organizational support, a sub-factor of social support, was observed in the relationship between role stress and job engagement. Specifically, organizational and supervisory support were found to moderate the effects of role conflict and role ambiguity. However, third, no significant moderating effect was found for coworker support, another sub-factor of social support, in the relationship between role stress and job engagement. Based on these results, practical and academic implications are presented.
