The story of the breadwinning mother who lost her husband after the war is based on the dual influence of the patriarchy, in which the 'War widow' is responsible for the livelihood of the family left as a hitter, and still rules her life. Pak kyongni's original short story, Hye-sook from "The Black and White", Jin-young from “The Distrust Age” and Soon-young from "The Dark Age", and Woon-hee from "Wind Nu (Storm)" are the typical stories of these women. However, through the realization of their gender identity as women and their resistible lives, they are recovering their selves, throwing themselves out as batters and becoming the breadwinning mother. Although Park Hwa-sung and Pak Kyong-ni have literary activities over a period of twenty years, the first is that women who are typified through individual female characters in the works are looking for recovery as a subject. Second, And that they interact with each other in historical hysteria. Third, it is common that they have produced popular works, including novels in the newspaper series. We will examine the subject recognition process and the changes of women who are called ‘war widows’ who were responsible for the livelihood of their children and their parents in the absence of their husbands due to the war revealed by Park Hwa-sung's "Wind Nu (Storm)" and Pak Kyongni's early short story novels. It seems like the appearance of struggling to survive in the world by losing a husband in war and taking care of the family's life seems to be similar in appearance, but unlike the cultivation of "Wind Nu (Storm)" as an individual becoming aware of femininity as an individual, A female character in a short novel leads to awareness of life beyond her ontological awareness. These differences lead to the works of Park Hwa-sung 's novels exploring the intimacy and innerness of women' s consciousness, and Park's literary philosophy coincides with the literary nature of the literary world, which brings about compassion and vitality to everything. It is necessary to interpret the aspect of the pre-modern narrative revealed in the works of the two writers critically and at the same time to avoid expanding the interpretation into the whole artist's consciousness. Therefore, in this article, I would like to pay more attention to the search for the awakening and the ontological growth process as the subject of desire by the female characters passing through the whole work.
