초록

The years of the Second Industrial Revolution saw great advances in electrical technology and electrical engineering education in France. In order to look into the process of electrical industrialization and the changes of higher engineering education system for training electrical engineer in France after the defeat of France in the Franco-Prussian War and the establishment of the Third Republic in 1870, the reconsideration of a traditional approach to the science, technology, and higher engineering education system of France is required. For this, we will examine the process of electrical industrialization, the background of founding the most prestigious electrical school, Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité(called ‘Supélec’), the contents of electrical engineering education program in this school, and finally the significance of the enactment of the ‘10 July 1934 Law’ containing the conditions for the issuance and use of the engineer’s degree.
