초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the double mediating effects of rumination and internal entrapment on the relationships between perceived interpersonal stress and depressive symptoms of university students. 400 undergraduate students completed Interpersonal Stress Scale, Korean-Ruminative Response Scale(K-RRS), Internal Entrapment Scale(IES), and Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale(CES-D). Results indicated that interpersonal stress perceived by university students had direct effects on the depressive symptoms while it also indirectly had significant effects on the depressive symptoms by passing through the rumination and internal entrapment in sequence. Also, each rumination and internal entrapment mediated the relationship between interpersonal stress and depressive symptoms. However, no significant differences in the strength of the indirect effects were found. In conclusion, this study provided the data for understanding the depressive symptoms of university students with interpersonal stress, and also verified that rumination and internal entrapment were serial double mediating at the relationship between perceived interpersonal stress and depressive symptoms of university students.
