This study was to understand how doctoral students who are majoring tourism and leisure perceive good teaching on the basis of their teaching and learning experiences. This study conducted qualitative research in the phenomenological frame. An in-depth interview having one and half hour was conducted with two doctoral students respectively. The transcribed interview contents were analyzed with open coding, axial coding and selective coding of the grounded theory method. This study found five main themes (emotional, mental, practical, spiritual, interpersonal) through selective coding, and the themes were interrelated with educational level and sub-cultural aspects. Good teaching perceived by doctoral students who are majoring tourism and leisure was considered to be a more complex structure.
