초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Subjective Risk Intelligence (SRI) scale among adults residing in Korea and to evaluate its applicability in the Korean context. In contemporary society, where crises and uncertainties are pervasive, individuals need to develop new psychological resources that enable them to perceive crises as opportunities and cope with unpredictable changes. This study translated the 21-item SRI scale originally developed by Craparo et al. (2018) and conducted a preliminary survey. Results of exploratory factor analysis and internal consistency reliability analysis indicated that a revised version with 16 items and four sub-factors, after deleting five items from the original, was appropriate. A subsequent survey confirmed through confirmatory factor analysis that the Korean version of the Subjective Risk Intelligence scale (K-SRI) maintained the same four-factor structure as the original: creative competence, problem-solving self-efficacy, positive attitude toward uncertainty, and emotional stress vulnerability. The internal consistency of the K-SRI was found to be at an acceptable level, and both convergent and discriminant validity were supported. These findings suggest that the K-SRI is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring individuals’ levels of subjective risk intelligence in Korea. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study are discussed, and suggestions for future research are provided.
