초록

The aim of this study is to take a simple approach to investigating potential impacts of sports tourism. It shall seek to identify the main implications of hosting events and make recommendations as to how any potential problems may be overcome. This research focuses on the implications of hosting the sporting event and breaks these down into specific areas of investigation; political, economic, environmental, social, cultural and spectator implications. This will focus on the development of strategies and also look at how the local community has been consulted and involved. Finally recommendations as to what could be done to avoid some of the potential of hosting the sports event and to maximize the benefits.
