This study aimed to identify common challenges and future directions for domestic research in art therapy integrated with technology by comparing and analyzing domestic and international research trends using text mining techniques. The study analyzed 149 domestic and 150 international abstracts published between 2000 and June 2022. Text Mining and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA)-based topic modeling were conducted using the R program. The findings were as follows: First, a 10-year interval analysis revealed that the most frequent keywords in both domestic and international research shifted from “computer” in the first period to “digital” and “online” in the second period. Second, network map analysis highlighted the emergence of new keywords, such as “virtual reality” and “COVID-19 pandemic” in the second period, reflecting contemporary trends. Third, while “computer-based expert systems” and “user-centered technology implementation” were dominant topics in the first period, the second period showed a shared focus on remote psychological support services driven by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study identified decade-long trends in art therapy integrated with technology and provided foundational insights for advancing domestic research through technical diversity and interdisciplinary approaches, supported by domestic and international comparisons.
