The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the local production network of suppliers that accompanied Hyundai Motor Corporation Group in Central Europe. Through questionnaire surveys and interviews, we investigated how Korea’s unique features of domestic production networks is realized in the local soil of Central Europe in terms of modification and replication. According to the research results, the production network set out in Central European locals has not changed its configuration, compared to the ways in which it was organized in Korea. It means that there is a high entry barrier or limitations for the local suppliers to go into the Hyundai’s supply networks. Suppliers that accompanied Hyundai in Central Europe imports parts needed from HQs located in Korea or purchased them from other Korean suppliers nearby. They also supply their items to HMMC or KMS and thereby they are captive to Korean carmakers. In addition, the hierarchy of revenue, employment, and wage which were already secured in Korea was duplicated in Central Europe. Consequently, the oversea productions of Korean TNCs featuring its limited and hierarchical production network is contrary to that of Japanese TNCs.
