초록
The purpose of the study was to analyze how self-esteem of adolescents affects social skills by mediating the impact on social skills and mindful attention awareness. The study was conducted on 271 middle school students in Gyeonggi-do and analyzed by a structural model. The main results of the study are as follows. First, self-esteem of adolescents has a positive effect on social skills. Second, mindful attention awareness of adolescents has a positive effect on social skills. In this process, mindful attention awareness partially mediates the relationship between self-esteem and social skills. Based on the results of this study, we discussed effective and practical interventions for improving social skills of adolescents. In addition, the limitations of the study were that it was difficult to generalize to all adolescents as it was targeted at some adolescents and that the factors affecting social skills of adolescents were limited to internal characteristics only.
