This paper examines the issue on the involved party’ stance on minority research. This paper examined whether it is not possible to conduct a minority study unless it is a minority party, and what are the conditions for a non-party to conduct a minority study. Particular attention was paid to the involved party’ stance on leprosy literature. Minority studies of non-parties have been questioned in that they cannot share experiences of alienation and discrimination of minority parties. However, there is a potential for hate and alienation of minority behind the eyes that question the non-party s research on minority. Differences and cracks exist within the involved party’ stance, and differences in the relationship between the parties and the non-parties may expand the horizon of minority research. In order for non-parties to intervene in minority matters, intimatesphere with the parties must be established. The precondition is empathy from non-parties and acceptance of the parties. However, while active empathy for non-parties is important, it is important not to overlook the concern that easy attempts to empathize may cause violence. Therefore, the ethical practice of sharing the wounds of non-parties while acknowledging a gap that cannot be filled between the two is truly important. Boundary crossing is a challenge for both parties and non-parties, but it is a task that cannot be abandoned for the visualization of minority issues.
