This paper aims to introduce a book written by professor Hee-Sook Han. It is difficult to figure out women’s history while it is women who occupy half of the world. The reason is the lack of materials that made the study difficult. The book by professor Hee-Sook Han has a new perspective on history by focusing on women. Queen In-Soo was a daughter-in-law of King Sejo and princess. By the way, she became a widow due to the death of her husband. Afterward, her son became King, Seongjong. She lived a tumultuous life as a queen mother. The book is about not only the life of Queen In-Soo but the domestic circumstance at that time and the relationship with Myeong dynasty also. It allows us to look at the history of Choseon dynasty from a new perspective of women. The significance of this book is as follows. First, it raised a level of history of women. Second, it showed a possibility for understanding history with women as a subject. Third, it suggested the direction of popularization of historical study. This book by professor Hee-Sook Han makes us understand the current history at that time, know the royal women and helps the public to trust and read the history.
