초록

The research examined the meaning of educational cooperation as Korea’s public diplomacy towards African countries, thus looking into the existing cooperation projects and seeking a way to improve its effectiveness. The paper analyzed the cases of the educational cooperation project led by the Ministry of Education, especially cases via international organizations as a multilateral platform held ‘Korea-Africa day’ to share experiences of the projects. It found that the significance of public diplomacy based on the multilateral platform to deepen Korea’s understanding of African countries. Also it is crucial to reproduce the previous or existing education cooperation projects and required to reinterpret the results of the projects with a customized approach considering it according to each African country’s different cultural background.
