Objectives This study emphasizes the necessity of career counseling interventions for isolated and withdrawn youth and discusses the limitations of traditional career counseling theories in adequately addressing their needs. The study aims to explore intervention strategies for career counseling tailored to these individuals by applying postmodern career counseling theories, particularly the narrative approach. It focuses on the counseling process that helps isolated and withdrawn youth resolve identity confusion and social disconnection while reconstructing an autonomous and meaningful career narrative. Methods This study was conducted as a literature review. First, it defines the concept and characteristics of iso lated and withdrawn youth and analyzes key career development issues related to this group. Subsequently, it dis cusses the suitability of the narrative approach in career counseling for these individuals. The study explores prac tical intervention strategies and the role of counselors by applying key concepts of the narrative approach, such as identity reconstruction, meaning-making, and self-identity, which are emphasized in postmodern career theories. Results The narrative approach respects and incorporates the experiences and voices of isolated and withdrawn youth, making it a suitable intervention technique. Narrative career counseling, focused on constructing career identity, enables individuals to reinterpret their subjective experiences, reframe their lives, and envision a positive future. This approach fosters career exploration and provides effective support in the career decision-making process. Conclusions This study suggests that the narrative approach is a suitable alternative for career counseling inter ventions for isolated and withdrawn youth. It also discusses the roles and responsibilities of career counselors in this process and presents the potential of narrative-based interventions as a career counseling strategy for this population.
