초록

In this thesis, I attempt to re-read Chuanqi <Choi Chi Won> by noticing the fact that the atmosphere of this work is light and erotic, revealing hidden sexual desire, and showing the aspect of a frivolous playboy. Work analysis proves that learned and literary officials unfolded their sexual desire to their heart's content by meeting two female ghosts, even though they were not allowed to deviate from rite-teaching in the reality. Both author and readers might have enjoyed the pleasure of expressing and speaking their wit and humor, wriggling sexual desire, and those things of taboo. In this thesis, I interpreted that those characteristics mentioned above were manifested because the desire (particularly, sexual desire) was expressed from the male-oriented perspective based on the acceptance of narrative structure (grammar) of Chuanqi involving love, emerged from the period of Tang Dynasty, China. It was inevitable to reduce or distort female desire as a result of keeping the male-oriented perspective.
