The aim of the study was to examined the trends and issues of 4th industrial revolution and investigating the tasks for improving the strategic areas of national human resource development consortium practice, which is the education and training program for naturing the human resources in the area of strategic industry field. We reviewed the current status and situation of training institutions and their programs and then, compared the programs of national human resource development with that of general training programs. The results are as follows. first, while there are training institutions that have specialized in a single training field, some institutions have operated vocational training programs in various fields of industries. Second, it did not clearly identified expertise of strategic areas training institutions in terms of training level, training levy, training duration, and scope of instructors. There are various levels and scope in the training programs. third, the difference with other training courses are not prominent. Based on these results, some future implications are proposed.
