초록
This paper focuses on literary narratives as new historical narratives of modern Chinese history, focusing on the two works of Liu Zhenyun. Regime and Blood and “Remembering 1942” reveal the microscopic history of “Lao Baixing” beyond the history of “Lenmin” by utilizing a narrative development method that mixes literature and historical descriptions against the backdrop of China’s revolutionary period and the Second Sino-Japanese War. Liu Zhenyun’s novels demonstrate unique perspectives and narrative techniques in contemporary Chinese novels, achieving results that only literature can achieve. The author develops the story at a rapid pace until the end of the work, while also showing a thoroughly critical perspective on capital-letter History, paying attention to the lives of ordinary people and telling their trivial stories in an interesting way. At the same time, his novels maintain a narrative attitude of doubt and avoidance, not of hope for humans and the world or of easy conclusion, showing a clear and original difference from contemporary historial narratives as well as novels dealing with history.
