The present study sought to examine the moderating effects of resilience and spousal support for childcare on the relationship between parenting stress and smartphone addiction tendencies of mothers with infants. The subjects comprised 412 mothers with infants aged from 0 to 3 years in day care centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi. The data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed by means of SPSS 23.0. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, higher levels of parenting stress predicted significantly higher smartphone addiction tendencies. Second, it was found that resilience had moderating effects on the relationship between parenting stress and smartphone addiction tendencies. Third, the level of spousal support for childcare also had a moderating effect. These results suggest the very important role played by mother’s resilience on the part of the mother and spousal support for childcare; both of which tended to decrease the negative impacts of parenting stress on smartphone addiction tendencies.
