초록

This study explores the introduction of "visually stimulating object forms" in floral design and aims to systematize both their typologies and methods of application, ultimately proposing a practical creative guideline. To this end, the researcher selected photographic examples of floral design works that prominently feature visually stimulating object forms derived from everyday objects or culturally symbolic shapes and are presumed to be effective in engaging the public. Employing a qualitative research method, specifically behavior setting analysis, a total of approximately 235 descriptive statements were extracted. These were categorized into two pools: one for object forms and the other for application methods. The KJ method was then applied to structure the data, resulting in a theoretical framework consisting of seven upper-level categories for object forms and five upper-level categories for their methods of application, along with associated middle and lower level concepts and descriptive statements. This framework was proposed as a guideline for incorporating visually stimulating object forms into floral design practices. To test its applicability and effectiveness, the guideline was applied to five floral artworks submitted by the researcher for a master’s degree exhibition. The results demonstrated a noticeable enhancement in both expressive quality and visual impact, thereby validating the effectiveness of the proposed guideline. The conceptual framework developed in this study offers a practical and applicable tool for floral designers during the creative process. The study holds academic significance in that it adopts a structured qualitative research approach using behavior setting analysis and the KJ method to develop, apply, and verify a methodology for integrating visually stimulating object forms into floral design creation.
