초록

The purpose of this study is to measure differences in fear of housebreaking crime and self-protective behavior against housebreaking among young adults(the age between 19 and 34) based on gender and type of households, single-person household female(SHF), multi-person household female(MHF), single-person household male(SHM), and multi-person household male(MHM) by conducting regression analysis based on the vulnerability model, disorder model, and official control model. As results showed that fear of housebreaking decreased in order of SHF, MHF, SHM, and MHM. In all groups, the only factor predicting the fear of housebreaking crime was the residential disorder. The self-protective behavior against housebreaking crime decreased in order of SHF, MHF, MHM, and SHM. In case of SHF, SHM, MHM, factors predicting the self-protective behavior were the residential disorder and the security level of the house. In case of MHF, the only factor predicting the self-protective behavior was the residential disorder.
