Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the work of <Swan Lake> by the Xi'an Acrobatic Art Troupe of China, a fusion performance known as circus ballet, and to examine how the fusion-like characteristic elements shown in this performance are incorporated into the work Methods: The analytical method is a phenomenological qualitative study that concludes by applying the ‘Dance as Text’ analytical method of Susan Foster, a dance critic and scholar who emphasizes a cultural approach to analyzing dance performances. Results: First, the circus ballet <Swan Lake> of the Xi'an Acrobatic Art Troupe stimulates the realistic imagination of the audience by interpreting the work in a more modern way, and leads to a dynamic development by inducing dramatic immersion. Second, the Xi'an Acrobatic Art Troupe's <Swan Lake> presents an original work of art that breaks away from the framework of Western classical ballet by integrating traditional ballet with elements of circus and traditional Chinese dance. Third, the Xi'an Acrobatic Art Troupe's <Swan Lake> performance induces the audience's immersion by providing a sense of dramatic realism in the stage design and props. Fourth, the technical skills of the dancers in the Xi'an Acrobatic Art Troupe's <Swan Lake> not only enrich the expressive vocabulary required for performing the dance work, but also clearly demonstrate the dignity and characteristics of the dance troupe. Fifth, the dramatic atmosphere is well expressed through the use of various rhythms and tempo of music, costumes expressed as a combination of Chinese and modern times, and colorful changes in lighting. Conclusion: Based on the above results, the Xi'an Acrobatic Art Troupe's work <Swan Lake> was analyzed as an original work that is differentiated from existing ballet works.
