중도 입국 청소년의 소속감과 자아존중감이 성공기대감에 미치는 영향 : 국적취득의 조절효과

초록

This study examines the effects of sense of belonging and self-esteem on expectancy of future success in the host country among mid-entry migrant youth, focusing on the moderating role of nationality acquisition. Using data from the Seoul Survey on the Status of Migrant Background Children and Adolescents conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Council, multiple regression analyses were conducted. The findings reveal that sense of belonging, self-esteem, and nationality acquisition significantly increase expectancy of future success. Nationality acquisition also moderates the relationship between sense of belonging and success expectancy. Specifically, sense of belonging significantly predicts future success expectancy only among youth who have not acquired Korean nationality. Based on these findings, the study highlights the importance of fostering psychological resources such as sense of belonging and self-esteem, while also considering the institutional and legal status of migrant youth. Policy implications are discussed to promote the successful settlement of mid-entry migrant youth in the host country.
