The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of afterschool sining class applying Gordon’s pattern study. In this study, 8 lesson plans were developed for the singing class of elementary afterschool. The lesson plans of 8 singing classes consist of pattern study activities applied from Gordon’s Music Learning Theory. The afterschool singing classes were conducted with 7 elementary students and their musicianship was tested using Gordon’s PMMA(Primary Measures of Music Audiation) before and after the program in order to verify the educational effect of the program. In addition, the teaching journal written by the teacher was analyzed. The results indicated that the afterschool singing classes based on pattern study activities were positively effective on students’ musicianship.
