초록

This study tried to break stereotype centered on heterogeneity resulting from the different systems of North and South Korea after the division, and to present a new point of view about homogenization of North and South Korea that focus on living and culture dimension, reflecting changes such as globalization in South Korea and Marketization in North Korea. Previous studies revealed that heterogeneity is being strengthened centered on the ‘system/ideological dimension’, ‘ethnic/historical dimension’, and ‘psychological/conscious dimension’. On the other hand, this study considered that it is necessary to pay attention to the ‘living and cultural dimensions’ of ordinary residents in the homogenization of North and South Korea. In particular, from the point of view of cultural globalization, the phenomenon of South Korean popular culture spreading into the ‘Korean Wave’ along with North Korea's marketization, and at the same time appearing as North Korea’s South Koreaization in the current living culture of North Koreans, shows the possibility of the current homogenization of the two Koreas. Therefore, in the future, a new index that can identify changes between the two Koreas based on the homogeneity of the two Koreas rather than the heterogeneity of the two Koreas is needed.
