초록

Objectives: This study focused on the current situation where there are changes in the role of parents and the difficulties caused by the current situation because parents and childcare staff have different role expectations. Therefore, this study examined the perceptions and experiences of parental roles and responsibilities from the perspective of childcare staff and examined the demand for related regulations. Methods: In this study, a 45-question questionnaire was constructed based on previous studies and FGI results, and the responses from 151 daycare center directors and 299 childcare teachers were collected and analyzed using SPSS 23.0. Results: Childcare staff generally recognized that there were many aspects in which parents were unable to distinguish the boundaries between the role of the childcare staff and their responsibilities. The childcare center staff felt this experience as job stress but complained it caused difficulty because there was no systematic coping plan. Therefore, it was said that it was necessary for public institutions such as the government to prepare guidelines. Conclusions: The results of this study imply that there is a need for a system in which daycare staff and parents can clearly recognize their mutual roles and responsibilities as joint partners.
