This study examines how the internal capabilities of South Korean venture firms influence their level of globalization in the context of intensifying global competition, based on the Resource-Based View(RBV). While previous research has mainly focused on external environmental or network factors, this study concentrates on the technological, marketing, and institutional capabilities accumulated within venture firms. The analysis utilized data from the 2023 Survey of Korean Venture firms, conducting a hierarchical regression analysis on a total of 2,838 venture firms. The results indicate that technological capability, marketing capability, and institutional capability all have significant positive effects on firms’ level of globalization. Specifically, institutional capability demonstrated the strongest effect, followed by technological capability and marketing capability. Technological capabilities help lower entry barriers to foreign markets through products and service innovation, while marketing capabilities enhance market scalability by improving customer acquisition and brand recognition. Institutional capability serves as an institutional foundation that supports these activities by reinforcing credibility and legitimacy in global market. This study has academic significance by empirically demonstrating, from the Resource-Based View, that the internal capabilities of venture firms serve as key factors of globalization performance. In terms of policy implications, the government and related agencies need to strengthen multi-layered support, including assistance for acquiring international certifications, expanding technological development infrastructure, and nurturing professional talent in global marketing. Moreover, it is necessary to develop customized globalization strategies tailored to the specific characteristics and growth stages of different industries.
