초록

This study analyzed the latent profiles of children's addiction to media devices and examined how parenting behavior and communication affect the potential classification of media devices. The data were drawn from the tenth wave of the Panel Study on Korean Children. A total of 1,389 children except missing and outliers were used for analysis. First, as a result of analyzing the media device addiction of children using a three-level latent profile analysis, it was classified into three potential groups. We examined the effects of the variables related to parents who have the closest relationship with children on media device addiction. The result is that authoritarian parenting behavior and non-verbal communication are more likely to be addicted to media devices. The significance of this study suggests the necessity and usefulness of a person-oriented approach to children's media device addiction. Finally, the significance and suggestions of this study were discussed.
