Objectives This study aims to investigate the level of expected utilization of face-to-face education in the subjects of mathematics and science for infants and toddlers in the nature exploration area targeting prospective childcare teachers, and to help with face-to-face education guidance and education planning. Methods One-way ANOVA and independent t-test were used to determine whether there was an average difference in the level of expected utilization by area according to the personal background of the research subjects, and cross-analysis was performed to determine the correlation between personal backgrounds. Results sults In the face-to-face education of the two subjects, the expected utilization level according to personal background was high at level 4 or higher. The mathematics guidance subject showed significant results in the background of ‘implementation purpose’ and ‘need for classes’, and the science guidance subject showed significant results in the background of ‘number of training sessions’. The mathematics instruction subject showed a correlation between the ‘implementation purpose’ and ‘class necessity’, and the science instruction subject showed a correlation between the backgrounds of ‘age’, ‘year of training’, ‘implementation purpose’, and ‘class necessity’. Conclusions The results of this study showing a high level of expected utilization in the face-to-face education of mathematics and science instruction subjects in the natural exploration area mean that prospective childcare teachers have a high possibility and will to utilize them in the future. It shows that it is possible to understand prospective childcare teachers’ interests and will regarding learning and utilization, and that the relationship can be reflected when planning face-to-face education for the two subjects.
