초록

This paper will examine the migration history of Korean female adoptees in Germany, who live in a transnational identity that crosses the boundaries of nation - state from all over the world in the global era. This paper focuses on the fact that the transition to a country which is granted the right of citizenship by the name of adoption by the other as a policy choice of the state rather than its own will is a international adoption, and aims to examine the history of Korean women’s displacements through adoption centering around Germany. To do so, this paper first examines the background and factors of international adoption led by the state and socio - cultural discourse. In addition, this paper will examine the adoption policies by Germany in terms of international adoption, and the current status of adoption of Korean women in Germany. In this process, this paper attempts to make a more systematic approach to the cultural rights and identity politics of Korean female adoptees in Germany, which are issues that is not visible in the history of Korean diaspora women.
