Discussions on Training Needs Analysis and Situational Factors

초록

The term ``training needs analysis`` primarily refers to analysis activities by human resource developers to investigate the nature of problems and/or understand new technologies in workplaces. Recently, the importance of the training need analysis for more effective training programs becomes highly emphasi2Ed by the human reoource developers in domestic education. However, in spite of such a tendency, there is still the lack of experts or professionals with a full recognition of knowledge and skills of the purpose. methods, and application of training need analysis in developing business training programs. The paper, therefore, was primarily aimed to investigate the impact of situational factors on the training need analysis for the design and development of business training programs. First., the characteristics of need analysis were discussed, focusing on the aspects of values and W1Certainty, and then, Ulschak(1983)``s model, was introduced to show the process of training need analysis in the development of training programs. In addition, some topics that should be dealt in the training need analysis were provided. Finally, the impact of situational factors on the training need analysis and its implication for more successful training programs were, based on the cases of the development of business training programs in a certain Korean coportate.
