초록
This study proposes an emotion-based classification system for eyebrow design, grounded in the aesthetic categories of Korean traditional aesthetics: meot (refined restraint), han (suppressed emoti on), heung (vital rhythm), and sinmyeong (communal energy). Moving beyond conventional approac hes in semi-permanent makeup, which have largely focused on external trends and functional aspe cts, this research highlights the cultural and emotional significance of eyebrow forms. Through a li terature review of Korean aesthetics, beauty design, and emotional consumption studies, five eyebro w types were identified: the restrained straight form (meot), the downward form expressing inner sentiment (han), the dynamic arch form (heung), the bright round form (sinmyeong), and the ascen ding form that integrates vitality and harmony (heung + meot). These categories suggest that eyeb rows can serve as visual mediators of individual identity and emotional expression, extending their role beyond superficial appearance. The proposed framework offers practical implications for semi-p ermanent makeup, providing a design strategy that responds to consumers’ growing demand for pe rsonalized and emotion-driven beauty experiences. Limitations of this study include the exclusive f ocus on eyebrows; future studies should extend this approach to other areas of semi-permanent m akeup and validate the framework through empirical testing.
