Purpose: The objective of this study is to empirically demonstrate the impact of participation in vocational training among people with disabilities on employment and wages. Method: Utilizing the 7th wave of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled, a Heckman two-stage analysis was conducted. Results: Firstly, the Heckman sample selection model was statistically significant, with the lambda value observed to be negative. Secondly, using the probit model in the first stage of the Heckman two-stage model, analysis revealed a positive influence of vocational training participation among people with disabilities on employment. Thirdly, estimation using the wage equation model in the second stage of the Heckman two-stage model indicated a negative impact of vocational training among people with disabilities on wages. Implications: Based on the analysis, suggestions included increasing support for vocational training participation among people with disabilities, reducing mismatches between job seekers with disabilities and employers, and developing better metrics to assess vocational training outcomes.
