영유아기 자폐장애와 지적장애의 변별진단에서 K-CARS2-ST의 변별력

Discriminative Validity of the K-CARS2-ST in the Differential Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability in Early Childhood

초록

This study examined the discriminative validity of the Korean Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Second Edition-Standard Version (K-CARS2-ST) in differentiating between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disability (ID) in early childhood. The results showed that the K-CARS2-ST total score and both subfactor scores significantly differentiated the ASD and ID groups, with the total score demonstrating the highest discriminative accuracy and an optimal cutoff score of 29.5. Among the subfactors, the Restricted and Repetitive Behaviors and Sensory Abnormalities factor showed very high discriminative validity, whereas the Social Communication and Interaction Difficulties factor showed a moderate level of discriminative validity, with optimal cutoff scores of 15 and 14.5, respectively. These findings indicate that the K-CARS2-ST total score should be prioritized in the differential diagnosis of ASD and ID, with factor scores providing supplementary clinical information for early differentiation.
