초록

The primary objective of this paper is to explore the performance history of Lim Sun-kyu’s Donghakdang, a topic neglected by scholarship to date. This study also considers the theater industry at that time and contemporary discourse. The performance history of Donghakdang is divided into the colonial period and the period after the liberation of Korea in 8.15. Colonial period performances are divided into first and second central performances, and the performances immediately after liberation are divided into third and fourth performances. This study uses these findings to objectively evaluate Donghakdang. This study traces the series of tracks. In conclusion, we argue that the performance of Donghakdang can be viewed as a journey through major inflection points in modern Korean history.
