예비음악교사의 감상 수업에 관한 인식 형성 과정 탐색

The purpose of this study was to explore how pre-service music teachers construct concepts about the teaching methods of music appreciation by analyzing their reflective journals. Fifteen pre-service music teachers who had taken the Teaching Method of Music Appreciation course participated in this study. The participants were asked to write reflective journal entries for every class during the semester, including midterm and final reflective journals. The research questions were as follows: 1) How did the pre-service music teachers construct concepts about the teaching methods of music appreciation? 2) What problems did the pre-service music teachers encounter while planning their lessons? and 3) Based on their experiences during this course, what did they find to be significant for effective music appreciation instruction, and which qualifications did they think music teachers should possess for effective instruction? The results were as follows. First, the pre-service music teachers constructed the concepts of music appreciation by analyzing literatures and experiencing microteaching processes. Second, overall, the pre-service music teachers experienced difficulties during the process of designing lesson plans, selecting and producing the teaching materials, and covering the broad range of learning content and learner-centered instruction. On the other hand, they discovered the topics they wanted to specialize in, realized the potential of various types of music appreciation lessons, and received empathy and recognition from their peers. Third, the pre-service music teachers identified the conditions of effective music appreciation instruction along with the necessary qualifications of music teachers as follows: definite learning objectives, validity and logic about the instruction, learners’ immersion, reasonable time allotted for thinking, the process of listening to and sensing music, and thinking about and expressing their ideas. According to these results, this study made suggestions for enhancing reflective pre-service music teacher education.
