교육심리학에서의 목표 연구를 통해 본 교사의 역할과 전문성

초록

The purpose of this study was to explore teacher’s roles and professional competencies in promoting learner’s goal-setting and development based on importance of goals in educational psychology field. To achieve the purpose, this study reviewed previous researches on goal and goal-setting theory and found out recent trends of the researches especially in the educational psychology field. The main trends of the recent studies on goals were as follows: studies focusing on goals' effects on learning, studies connecting goals with learning motivation, studies covering learner’s life goals, and studies expanding goals to social dimension. Through this analysis of the trends, we identified that the role of goals in educational psychology field is considered not only as promoting learner’s performance in learning settings but also as supporting individual to explore and seek the meaning and value of life throughout one’s life course. Moreover, setting individual goals considering social value plays an essential role for our society by functioning in social development positively. According to the importance that goals have for both individual and society, teachers should develop teaching professionalism in order to provide learners with a supportive system considering individual whole life and the society as well as their performance in learning contexts.
