초록
The purpose of this paper is to explore the new trend of elderly literature in contemporary Japanese society. Yasuda Io’s novel <Shukatu Fashion Show>(2012) was the first work under the theme known as “Shukatu,” which refers to the movement engaged with making preparations for one's death. This novel suggests that the aged living in a super-aged society are beginning to take the initiative in death-related institutions, rites, and even thoughts.
