초록

The development of expression in art has deep relations with that of techniques. The collage technique developed in the field of painting has broadened the expressional possibilities of visual art in 20th century. Collage as a method of creating artworks combining different materials and melting out inconsecutive attributes is being found in many other field of visual art as well. The floral design where artworks are created by the combination of natural material reveals the attribute of collage in its process and output. The research is on the analysis of expressional characteristics of collage shown on the artworks of floral design in relation to the expressional characteristics of collage shown on the paintings. The analyzed expressional characteristics of collage shown on the paintings are as follows: decomposition of objects using multiple viewpoints, 3 dimensional composition using alien materials, geometrical composition by decomposing elements, and dreamy world of sub-conscious. It is found that these major characteristics found in painting are shared in the artworks of floral design and the collage as a method is contributing to expansion of the expressional possibilities of floral design.
