국제적 지식이전의 유형 분류 및 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 한일 간 기술이전을 중심으로

Purpose: This study examines international knowledge transfer from individuals to firms by classifying knowledge transfer cases into distinct types and identifying the factors affecting satisfaction with knowledge transfer. Research design, data, and methodology: This study utilized Korea–Japan knowledge transfer cases from international technical guidance programs conducted in Korea. Annual project reports from 2015 to 2021 were analyzed, including only cases with complete data for all variables. A two-step cluster analysis was conducted for Research Question 1, while multiple and hierarchical regression analyses were performed for Research Question 2 using SPSS. Results: The knowledge transfer cases were classified into five types: Product/Process Improvement-Focused (PIFocused, 36.7%), Product Development-Focused (PD-Focused, 33.6%), Human Resource Development-Focused (HRDFocused, 12.4%), Market Development-Focused (MD-Focused, 9.2%), and Product/Process Improvement-Product Development Combined (PI/PD-Combined, 8.0%). Both the method used to identify the knowledge transfer provider and prior knowledge transfer experience had significant positive effects on satisfaction, whereas knowledge transfer type had no significant effect. In addition, the moderating effect of communication type was not significant. Implications: This study contributes to the literature by classifying international knowledge transfer cases and empirically identifying the factors affecting satisfaction. It further extends prior research by examining knowledge transfer at the individual-to-firm level in the context of small and medium-sized enterprises. The findings suggest that firms may enhance the effectiveness of international knowledge transfer by developing capabilities and networks to identify suitable technical experts, utilizing government-supported programs, and accumulating relevant know-how through continued participation.
