Policy for women scientists and technicians may be called a policy field in which, due to a given policy’s complexity, rapid development in science and technology, and rapid changes in a given social environment, the policy continually improves in a way proper to the change through access and analysis from diverse perspectives. This study comprehensively analyzes policies for women scientists and technicians in terms of the normative dimension, structural dimension, constituent dimension, and technical dimension by using a multi-dimensional policy model. The analysis shows that even though Korea’s policies relating to women scientists and technicians have shown good performance through many trials and efforts since the enactment of the ‘Act on Fostering and Supporting Women Scientists and Technician’ in 2002, the gender gap of women scientists and technicians still remains to be improved. For a fundamental solution to this problem, there shall be the continual improvement in the related laws and institutions as well as changes in the total social structure and culture, which can help people to make autonomous implementation and participation.
