This study began with the discovery of new sympathetic directions based on visual differences between humans and dogs. As the number of households with pets has steadily increased, the perception of pets in our society is also changing from "pets" to "friends." The relationship between humans and pets is deepening. The purpose of this study is to propose a fusion and composite product design that presents a new direction in communion and communication with dogs, noting visual differences among the physical differences between dogs and humans. Therefore, this study attempted a new product design considering the dog's color discrimination ability. The results and contents of the study are as follows: First, we analyzed the visual features of dogs to understand the possibility of visual communication between humans and dogs. Second, it set seven colors that dogs and humans can share and sympathize with, and referred to the communication activity with dogs using them as "Color Communication," and suggested the concept and necessity of color communication. Third, I designed a play product design for effective color communication with dogs. Finally, in order to present the utilization of the product, I proposed activities to commune and communicate with dogs more effectively through the product. This study can be seen as suitable for the needs of the times, such as growing social interest in pets and the growth of the pet market. However, as a propositional study based on theory and subjective interpretation, there is a limitation that accurate verification and grounds are needed, such as experiments on color recognition of dogs. Therefore, in future studies, it is necessary to verify the effectiveness of color communication based on these findings and to provide specific directions for color communication product design and activities.
