The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between self-perceived listening ability and listening styles of university students. The tendency of self-perception of listening behavior in home and school was explored by university students. For this purpose, the listening style profiles of Barker & Weaver III(1995) were used to analyze the listening styles of university students and how university students evaluated their abilities as listeners. The results of the study are as follows: In order to verify whether self-perceived listening ability differs according to gender, t-test was conducted. As a result, male students were higher than female students in all areas. And as a result of analyzing the difference by major, the students in natural engineering were higher than those in humanities and social studies. As a result of correlation analysis between self- perceived listening ability and listening styles, people-oriented listening style showed a positive correlation with the self-perceived listening ability score for school and friends. Action-oriented listening style had negative correlation with self-perceived listening ability score with home, friends of opposite sex, and family. Time-oriented listening style had a significant negative correlation with self-perceived listening ability scores for opposite sex friends. Self-evaluation of listening ability is different according to situation and object, and it is shown that there is a different relationship according to listening styles.
