The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting the effectiveness of instructional consulting in improving the quality of teaching in university, focusing on the perception of instructional expertise and the satisfaction of instructional consulting. We collected responses from 97 professors who participated in instructional consulting for resent two years. The data were used for multiple regression analysis, using SPSS program. As a result of the research, professors who participated in instructional consulting not only recognized the necessity of applying new teaching method but also responded highly to the practice of application as they perceived less professionalism in instructional expertise. In addition, the less perceived level of professionalism in class implementation, the higher the recognition of the necessity of applying new teaching methods. Also, the higher the perception of the level of professional reflection in class, the higher the level of practice for changing the interaction strategy in class and the practice for applying new teaching method. On the other hand, the recognition of instructional consulting effect on the satisfaction of instructional consulting was confirmed to be related with the recognition of necessity of applying new teaching method. It was suggested that instructional consulting should be conducted to encourage the professors to recognize the necessity of change in their instructions and improve their instructional expertise.
